British High Commission Beach Run 2019
Over the weekend of 23-24 November, our High Commissioner, Mr Richard Lindsay will attempt to run the entire length of Brunei’s beach coastline – a distance of over 130km!
This is the first time this has been tried. He will be supported, and accompanied, by teams from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and British Forces Brunei. This feat will be a celebration of the uniquely close defence ties between the United Kingdom and Brunei.
They will battle extreme heat, high humidity, soft sands, crocodiles and sandflies.
The run will raise awareness of Brunei’s beautiful coastline and the dangers to it, and the world’s oceans, from plastic pollution. We hope to encourage donations to the charity Plastic Oceans UK.
The link to how you can do so in the link below. Thank you for your support! https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bruneiukbeachrun
We will also be raising funds for SMARTER Brunei, a family support organisation for individuals with autism. If you would like to support Richard, He suggests giving donations to SMARTER to help sustain our essential work preparing children and individuals with autism for life. Follow the instructions to donate now.
